The Green Bay Packers and USA Football recently awarded grants for new equipment, uniforms and other resources to several youth and scholastic football programs throughout Wisconsin.
Grants are valued up to $1,500 apiece and provide the following resources from USA Football partners: Tackle football equipment from Riddell; flag football equipment from NFL FLAG powered by USA Football; uniforms from Badger Sportswear; practice equipment from Tackle Tube, Shadowman Sports and Gilman Gear; field-building financial support from FieldTurf; background checks from Peopletrail; and field equipment from Port-A-Field.
"The Packers are proud to work with USA Football and the NFL Foundation to help provide much-needed resources and equipment to benefit local football programs," said Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy. "These grants help allow youth and school football programs to ensure a safe and healthy environment for young athletes to play and grow."
Green Bay area youth and school-based school programs awarded a 2018 USA Football Grant include: Appleton West High School and Appleton Youth Football Association, in Appleton, Wis.; Aquinas High School in La Crosse, Wis.; Augusta High/Middle School Football Program in Augusta, Wis.; Beaver Dam Youth Football Inc. in Beaver Dam, Wis.; CUDA Youth Football and Cheer Inc. in Colby, Wis; De Pere Youth Football and Falcon Football, Inc., in Green Bay; Warner Park Youth Football and Cheerleading in Madison, Wis.; Mayville Youth Football (Cardinals) in Mayville, Wis.; Future Leaders Football League in Menasha, Wis.; Catholic Youth Football Club and Sports Academy Inc. in Milwaukee; Green County Family YMCA in Monroe, Wis.; Peshtigo Youth Football in Peshtigo, Wis.; Sheboygan North High School in Sheboygan, Wis.
USA Football's grant program will award more than $1.5 million in resources to benefit young athletes in 2018, based on merit, need and a school's or sports organization's commitment to coaching education and best practices. USA Football has awarded more than $10 million in grants to school-based and youth football programs since 2006. The grants are funded by the NFL Foundation, the league's nonprofit organization representing its 32 clubs. Its mission is to support the health, safety and wellness of athletes, youth football and the communities which support the game. USA Football is the official youth football development partner of the NFL.
